4) "RITA" COMMISSION- Te Papap Museum
Rita was released on April 20th, 2022. It is an original composition, around 30 minutes in length, and a through-composed piece of music, commissioned by the Australia Council of the Arts and performed by members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. It is dedicated to New Zealand visual artist Rita Angus (my great aunt), and is an auditory response to a large selection of works from her entire career. The project included a collaboration with Prof. Carlo Diego (from the Media Arts Department) who animated some of the art works. The video was posted to the Te Papa Museum’s website, along with a short write up. If you prefer to stay on this website, the video/recording can be viewed below.
5) "CASS" A Glorious NFT
I wrote a solo guitar arrangement to be featured as an auditory addition to Rita Angus’ famous work Cass, which was minted and turned into an NFT (Non Fungible Token). 11 copies were made, and editions 2-10 went on sale on March 10th, 2022, and sold out in 3 seconds. The first edition went on sale at an auction the week after (March 17th) and sold for $19,000 NZD. Links to social media posts, websites and the full piece of music have been included below.
